The Make A Change Canada (formerly CSSD) is committed to providing our clients with exceptional service. As providing this service involves the collection, use, and disclosure of some personal information about our clients, protecting their personal information is one of our highest priorities.
For that reason we follow the guidelines of the Privacy Act and the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). We will obtain our clients' consent and inform them why and how we collect, use, and disclose of their personal information.
The Privacy Act and PIPEDA outline the principles and practices we will follow in protecting clients' personal information. Our privacy commitment includes ensuring the accuracy, confidentiality, and security of our clients' personal information and allowing our clients to request access to, and correction of, their personal information.
Definitions
- Personal Information
- means information about an individual such as name, age, home address and phone number, email address, social insurance number, marital status, source of income, disability status, education, employment, and business information.
- Privacy Officer
- means the individual designated responsibility for ensuring that Make A Change Canada complies with this policy.
Accountability and Recourse
Make A Change Canada is accountable for all personal information under its control and will ensure that inquiries, concerns, and complaints regarding personal information receive prompt attention and are resolved in a timely manner. Make A Change Canada's Privacy Officer and alternative are designated as responsible for Make A Change Canada privacy policy, and any questions about Make A Change Canada's handling of personal information should be directed to the Privacy Officer.
Purposes for Collection, Use, and Disclosure
Make A Change Canada collects and uses personal information for the purposes reasonably required in order for it to carry on business. We will also collect client information that is necessary to fulfill the following purposes:
